Day Out With Thomas 2012

My boys love going to Day Out With Thomas. We have went there for the past three years {read about last year here} and each year has been better than the previous.

Here are the fun events that were at the Chicago event: 20-minute ride with Thomas the Tank Engine™, meet Sir Topham Hatt™, clowns, puppet shows, magic shows, live music, Thomas & Friends™ storytelling and video viewing, Thomas & Friends playtable, balloon animals, bounce houses, tours of old train cars, Thomas & Friends coloring, temporary tattoos of Island of Sodor friends, sand play and more!

The only thing that we were disappointed about this year was that Sir Topham Hatt seemed to not be available as much as he had in past years. We didn’t get our picture taken with him which is one of my favorite parts of the event, but the kids didn’t seem to mind. They loved getting the tattoos, playing in the giant mountain of sand, and jumping in the bounce house. Their favorite part of the day though is always the end when they get to go into this big tent that is full of Thomas toys available for purchase. They have cute shirts as well that say, “I spent a Day Out With Thomas….and he spent a day out with me!” and an exclusive train car with the year on it that I always get them.

We checked out old trains.

Lucas loved riding the train and sat still, looking out the window the whole time.

Jacob talked the whole time {as most 4 year olds do….}

They loved this giant train poster and told me who all three of the trains were.

We checked out old railroad pieces.

See the full schedule here– there are still DOWT events through November! If you missed the train this year, keep your eyes open for the 2013 schedule which should be posted towards the beginning of next year.

(Disclosure: We received complimentary tickets to go to Day Out With Thomas.)
